Monday Mani| Fall Ready

Although it's not quite fall yet, I picked up some fall scented candles yesterday, AND I plan to get my first pumpkin spiced latte at sometime this week! Fall has become my favorite season over the years. I love that it's not too hot and not too cool. I love being able to comfortably wear layers that I can add or take away depending on the temperature. I think Essie polish in Velvet Voyeur is the PERFECT fall color! I love this color so much, I just may splurge a little and buy this particular Essie polish for my own collection!

Monday Mani| Rise and Shine

Happy Monday, loves!!! I hope you were able to rise this Monday morning and SHINE!! I'm excited to start this week on a high note! I posted an update last night, check it out if you are interested in what's been going on with me lately. 

I had a chance to give myself a manicure last Friday, and I chose a color that I would consider to be out of the box for me! I'm actually not sure how the color ended up in my collection! Maybe I picked it up on a whim, or maybe it was a gift that I managed to forget about?! 

This lovely emerald green color is beautiful!! The formula of this Sinful Colors polish called, "Rise and Shine," is amazing! I was able to apply it to my nails without issue. Now, I did have to apply three coats for the color to be opaque, but I had no issue with that since it was so easy to apply. 

*Quick tip: If you have a polish that applies on the transparent side, apply a white polish first and then apply the color on top. Then you should only have to apply two coats. 

Take my advice on this one ladies, the next time you are out pick this polish up! It will be a great color to transition into fall/winter!

Monday Mani| All Black...Ok, Ok with a Hint of Gold!

Heyyy! Sorry for the late post, friends! Happy Monday anyway! For some reason I've had the strong urge to paint my nails black! I mean I really want to just paint them black, but I found this chic manicure look with the thin gold stripe, and you know I can't say no to gold anything! LoL. I'm not depressed or anything like that...I don't know something about all black is just very classic to me. The one drawback I can think of is the pain I'll have to go through to take it off! Blehhh. What do you think? Should I paint my nails black or nah?

Monday Mani| First Day of School

Happy Monday, friends!!

Today is Little R's first day of the 1st grade so I've had thoughts of good ole' yellow school bus all morning. Did you ride the school bus as a kid?  I don't know that I would ever be adventurous enough to polish my nails yellow! That's a bit much for me! I do; however, think this yellow french manicure is super cute! 

On a more confessional note, days like this make having shared custody really hard. My Facebook newsfeed is flooded with pictures of all the little ones dressed in their new school clothes waiting either anxiously or patiently for the school bus! Unfortunately, it's highly likely we, as in Big R and I, won't even get to see a picture of Little R today. It makes me sad! : ( I plan to talk more about my experience as a "soon to be" stepparent in future posts. For now, I will just settle with the idea of school bus yellow french manicure!

Monday Mani| Bite the Bullet

Happy Monday, loves. So, is it just me, or is that 'Bite the Bullet' image HOT!!!! This week's manicure is none other than Wet n Wild Megalast in the color 'Bite the Bullet.' Wet n Wild polishes never let me down. I find them very easy to apply, and for that reason alone they are a go to for me. I think I happen to have two bottles of this same color! Oops!!! ; ) 

I'm obviously a fan of this color. What do you think?

Monday Mani| Sugar Coat

Happy Monday, loves!!

I'm back to my natural nails, and I'm honestly missing the convenience of having acrylics. On the other hand, I'm really loving this natural looking manicure look I achieved with Wet N Wild's Megalast polish in the color 'Sugar Coat.' It's a very soft pink color. I think this would make a nice wedding day color! I will be sure to keep this color in mind for my own wedding day that will go down some time in the year of 2015! ; )

How was your weekend? My weekend was FULL of rest and relaxation! This week is going to be a busy one, so I'm happy I was able to take full advantage of doing absolutely nothing!

My nail inspiration look for this week is almost too much greatness in one manicure. There's pink, there's a nautical inspired accent nail, AND gold sparkles! #iDie Haha!

Monday Mani| Err Tuesday Edition?

Happy Tuesday loves!!! Would you believe me if I said I had every intention of posting My Style Thursday and The Friday Five last week? But you know what, I was on vacation with family and I couldn't break myself away from them to post! Sometimes you have to live in the moment, and that's just what I did! I have quite a few pictures from our trip that I plan to share sometime this week, so come back for those if you're interested!!

I mentioned in this post a couple of weeks ago that I was hoping to try gel nails for my Detroit trip. Well, I didn't ask the nail tech, but I just think that my natural nails are too short for gel nails...so I went with acrylics! Yes, acrylics! I haven't had a full set since high school y'all.  I know it's not the healthiest thing for your nails and I don't know if this is a habit that I can keep up with, but I'm loving the look for now. 

I went with OPI's "Color So Hot It Berns" for my polish color! It's such a nice classic red!! What do you lovelies think? Do any of you get acrylics too?

Monday Mani| Fourth of July

Monday Mani| Detroit Prep {AND} a GIVEAWAY!

Perfection!!! I know! I just love painting my nails red! It is such a classic look. But then you add a nautical blue and white striped accent nail! #iDie!

After I saw this look, I was trying to think of where I could find the nautical design nail decal. I mean it has to exist, right? I am personally not talented enough to pull off the strips by hand that's for sure! Well, I found these decals on Amazon:

I'm back with this week's mani! I spent this past Saturday at an amusement park, Carowinds in Charlotte, NC. I shared more details about our day at the park in my Week in Review post here. Y'all I posted my Week in Review extra late last night! My bad! Check it out if you're interested! I wanted to wear a bright color on both my nails and toes since I knew I would be wearing a black top, and I wanted a pop of color. I went with a bright pink in none other than Sinful Colors Pink Poppys. I should just be a rep for Sinful Colors, huh? LoL.

Monday Mani| Cinderella

A good manicure will give you that princess feeling...on your nails at least! LoL. My mani from late last week was this beautiful light blue color with a hint of shimmer called, "Cinderella" by Sinful Colors. 

My cousin had on this lovely color a couple of weeks ago. Right after I left her house, I ran to Walgreens to find my own bottle. I was unable to find it at my Walgreens, so she bought this one for me! Thanks Kena! Love you!

I have really been gravitating toward blue polish more than ever lately! I think it works for me!

Monday Mani| Memorial Day Style

Happy Monday, friends, and more importantly, Happy Memorial Day to all the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country! Thank you for keeping our country safe!!! For those of you who pray, I ask that you pray for one of my best friends who will be deploying across the seas later this summer. I so admire her dedication, but I also pray for her often. So I would be very thankful if you prayed for her too!

So this lovely Monday morning, I decided to polish my nails a bright, royal blue with a hint of gold sparkle on my ring fingers. I knew I wanted to wear my American flag scarf today, and I thought the royal blue would compliment it well.

I used Sinful Colors "All Day, All Bright" and an ELF gold sparkle polish called "Golden Goddess" that was gifted to me in a set for my last birthday by my friend Tiffany. {Thanks Tiff!}

I'm a fan of the look! What do you think?

A quick note for you lovelies...I'm typically a fan of Sinful Colors polish; HOWEVER, the "All Day, All Bright" color is a gel based polish...and while the color is very pretty the polish chips almost instantly which sucks. I thought I would give you all the heads up just in case you decide to try it!

Monday Mani| Coral and Gold Inspiration

Hey, hey friends!!! I hope you all can forgive me for my absence over the past week or so. Life happens you know. I am going through a life transition that I will probably share with you all sometime in the near future. And no, I'm not preggers!  Anyway, to be completely honest my nails are coated with only clear polish again, BUT, I did want to share a mani look I found on Pinterest that I'm dying to try!

Now there are a few things to note here: 

1| Is it just me, or is coral just everything right now? It's such a beautiful color!

2| I think my love for gold sparkles is slightly ridiculous. I can't help it though...I like what I like! Sheesh!

3| I don't see myself ever buying any Essie polishes...I just can't bare the thought of spending more than $5 for a nail polish...so I'm on the hunt for a dupe to this color OR maybe, just maybe, I will treat myself to a professional manicure to achieve this lovely look!!!
