My Style Thursday | Spring 2015 Wishlist

I have not posted a My Style Thursday in foreverrrr! I'm itching to go spring shopping and these are some of the items I will be on the lookout for sure. As many of you probably already know my style is super simple and usually very casual. Since I will be rocking an ever growing baby bump this spring, I think it will be nice to have a couple of nice button downs I can wear open with a nice comfy tee under. As you notice, I don't have any specific plans for bottoms. Do I have to wear pants? LoL. I have not been a fan any pants. I can actually still fit into all my regular jeans for now, but I'm most comfortable with no pants, or if I have to wear pants I'm grabbing for pants with a stretchy waist. For those lingering cool days and nights, I'm on the hunt for a light weight, olive green parka. Lastly, I NEED a pair of white Converse in my life, and a girl can never have too many statement necklaces. Right? Tell me what you have on your spring wish list! I want to know!

My Style Thursday| Goodwill Haul

Old Navy Royal Blue Blouse 

The picture isn't really true to color...bummer! I really need a bloggy camera! Anyway, Little R is playing sandlot football for the first time this year! Yesterday, I went to Goodwill to find a couple of blue shirts to wear to his games. He plays for the Blue Devils...and I'm sure some folks will rock some Duke Blue Devil paraphernalia...umm...NOT this girl! University of Virginia grad over here!! Wahoowa!!! All day, err day!

Worthington Embellished Black Blouse 

Seriously, this shirt is everything! It didn't have a tag on it, but I'm pretty sure it has never been worn before. I will definitely be rocking this baby this upcoming fall with a pair of black skinnies. All black errthang!

Splendid Teal Blouse 

I'm not really sure if this blouse is my style or not?! It's a beautiful teal color, with flowy sleeves that have an eyelet detailed trim. I didn't try any of these items on...so we shall see!

Red Camel Blouse

Again, I was on the hunt for blue! I'll need to wear this before summer is over.  I think Red Camel is a Belk brand. Look at the cute detail: 

Denim Shorts with White Polka Dots

Oh my goodness, these are so cute! I can't wait to see how they fit me after I get them washed! I may possibly wear these with a basic white tank to Little R's game this upcoming Saturday. 

I am happy to report each of these pieces only cost $3.79 each! Score!!! Tell me what you think. Do you shop at the Goodwill? And if you don't, umm why not?! LoL.

Seriously, it's Thursday already! I'm getting to a point where I feel like I need a pause button. Summer is slipping away! I'm not ready for it to go just yet, so I need to make the most of these next few weeks! Although it's summer and it's hot outside (ok well, typically it is...we've had some rather cool days here lately), the warm weather does NOT keep me from having my cup, or two, or three of coffee each day!! I will occasionally have an iced coffee, but I prefer it hot. Now, what I'm needing in my life is a cute coffee t-shirt to express my love of coffee through fashion!

My Style Thursday| Work From Home Uniform

I absolutely love working from home! Having the ability to dress extremely comfortable every day is just an added bonus. Now that I have worked from home for several weeks now, I think I have come up with the most suitable work from home "uniform" that works best for me.

When you work from home, only the top part of your body will be seen by anyone at any given time so it's important to look as presentable as possible from the waist up. For me, I like to wear a nice, basic tank top, a cardigan to pull the look together (and for warmth), and a simple necklace and stud earrings to accessorize.

The bottoms, I'm just about always wearing shorts or sweat pants of some sort. I really need to get the pair of sweats feature in my look to add to my collection!!

You will also always catch me with a cup of coffee, my planner, some cozy socks, and of course my laptop. For those of us who aren't fortunate enough to have 20/20 vision, I think a cute pair of eye glasses is only right too! I'm currently in need of a new pair of specs, and I would certainly love to have a pair of Ray Bans whenever I get around to ordering a pair!

Ok! Let's talk about style! 

Well, I've professed my love for classic and simple fashion many a times. Having said all that, it would only make sense that the lovely Ms. Sandra Bullock is my STYLE CRUSH! I mean Sandra can pretty much do NO wrong when it comes to fashion in my book. What I love about her style is that it's simple, yet chic, and to be quiet honest it's plain! I also find that Sandra's style is easy for me to mimic because she is my height, and my body type is similar to hers...ok well, maybe she is 15-20 pounds lighter and she's more fit...but you get my drift!!

The remainder of this post is going to be very picture heavy! I want you to soak in all of Sandra Bullock's casual style GREATNESS...ok?! Oh! And don't be surprised if you hear me talk about Sandra again in future posts! I'm obsessed!

My Style Thursday| Fashion for Your Body Type

Heyyyyy friends! Happy Thursday! 

I don't know about y'all, but on more than one occasion, I've found myself in the dressing room trying to figure out why the dress I thought was so cute on the rack doesn't look cute on me...like AT All?! Have you been there before? 

Well, I came across this nicely laid out diagram on good ol' Pinterest, and I really found it helpful!

I'm sure you have all seen something similar to this is 15 different magazines, but I feel like I was able to easily find MY body type using this particular diagram. I also think the suggested styles for my body type are spot on as well! If you must know, I'm the purple chic! Yeah, that's right I have a "Boyish" body type. Until I took a close look at this diagram, I had never really identified my body type as "Boyish" that's for sure...but it is what it is! Now I'm ready to go on a shopping spree so I can use my new knowledge of what clothes will apparently suit me best!!!

My Style Thursday| Fiance's Picks

Hey friends!!! Welcome back to another week of My Style Thursday! This week I bribed my lovely fiance' to assist me! It was actually easier to bribe him than I thought it would be...he just asked me to my him a parfait in exchange! Done and done! LoL. Anyway, Big R, my fiance', is from the city of Detroit, Michigan. People from Detroit, men especially, take serious pride in their style! As a result, Big R is very stylish. He is very confident in his sense of style too. Unlike me, he has very well-established wardrobe, and he has a zone that he sticks to, which I think is super important when it comes to creating your own style. Over the years we've been together he has encouraged me to find my zone and to stick with it! Now, don't get it twisted...this is no Kimye' situation over here...I wear what I want! LoL. He just encourages me to build a wardrobe that I'm comfortable with...a wardrobe that's versatile! I'm still working at that...but I've come a long way! Ok, I'm rambling again! Here are a few pics of my handsome husband-to-be: (just so you can get a sense of HIS style!)

Ok, so it's important that you note: his French cuffed shirt, ring, watch, AND cuff links! You didn't think it was a game when I told you he was from Detroit, did you?! LoL.

We took this picture a couple of years ago. We were out for the night on a cruise along the Detroit River. (Lawd, what I would do to have those arms today!)

And this would be his version of casual wear. If you hadn't noticed already, he also dresses his little mini-me very well too!

So now that you know a little more about my man and his fashion sense...for this week's post, I asked him to pick out two outfits he would choose for me.

I am personally a fan of both looks! What do you think? I had a lot of fun with this post. It was really interesting to see what Big R would chose for me! My Style Thursday| Goodwill Work Wear

Happy Thursday, friends!!! I hope you all are doing well. Now if you have been around for a while, I KNOW you have taken my advice and stopped by your local Goodwill...multiple times?! I mean I know you are addicted by now, right? Well, if you still don't believe me, or if you're new to the blog...hey girl hey!...let me share with you an outfit I purchased from my Goodwill last week that I believe to be very appropriate for business casual work wear. 

What we have here is a Merona {Target} black and white striped top and a pair of casual, khaki colored Faded Glory {Usually found at Walmart} chinos. 

Seriously, this outfit can be dressed up...say a colorful statement necklace paired with a pair of leopard print flats OR you can dress it down with a chambray button down over the top and a pair of black and white Converses? No?! Holla at ya girl, now!

And yes, I paid $3.79 for the top and another $3.79 for the pants coming in just under 8 bucks. I threw these bad boys in the wash for a good cleansing, and I've already worn both pieces this week!

Lawd knows I love me some Goodwill. If I could go EVERYDAY, I would!
