Winner. Winner. Chicken Dinner.

So I had to share a couple of things that have made me feel like a winner over the past few days.

Tan Lines.
My nail polish pick for the week! Sorry, I missed Monday Mani yesterday! I really wanted to get up my Week in Review instead. I hope y'all enjoy those posts. Those are the kind of posts I KNOW I will come back to years from now. Anyhoo, I painted  my nails in this lovely neutral color:

In fluorescent light.
In natural light.
It's called "Tan Lines" by Sinful Colors. Winner!

Good Food Made Simple - Chicken Apple Sausage Egg White Burrito.
On my grocery shopping trip to Harris Teeter last week I picked up this random burrito:
I picked it up because I figured it would be a good option for those mornings I need something quick, which happens quite often during the week. I only bought one because I wasn't sure how it would taste. You know you always take a gamble when it comes to frozen foods. Well, my friends, I ended up having the burrito for a quick lunch last week and it was a winner! It tasted great, and it doesn't hurt that it's made with natural ingredients and it's all healthy and such, especially since it's made with egg whites. So with that being said, I will be picking up a few more of these bad boys! I suggest you do the same if you see them in your local grocery store! ; )
Thigh Master
My Thigh Master. I know, I know...looking at this thing you're corny. That's a throwback. Does that thing really work?
Well can I just tell y'all that at the ripe old age of 26, my metabolism has already started to slow down. And my thighs...child! It's tragic, tragic I tell you! Anyway, I broke this thing out Sunday night, and it was so easy to use. I worked out these thighs of mine from the convenience of my sofa while watching Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion. I haven't used it long enough to tell you if it works or not, BUT I can tell you I can feel it working my muscles as I use it. I found my Thigh Master at the Goodwill (over a year ago, and I'm just now using it) for $3.

Water with Lime.
Water with LIME, not lemon. Please, and thank you. Try it!

Until Next Time!

Monday's Mani - "Bright Lucite" by Sinful Colors. I shared this pic on my Google+ page. Make sure to follow me there. I really like Google+ for following other bloggers too.

Straight hair selfie. My straight hair lasted for a little over a week, and I was really feeling it. I had the back cut into a bob. I didn't get a good picture of that to share with y'all though. My bad. I live for a bob. I wish I could successfully straighten my hair on my own. I think I would wear it straight more often. To any of you naturally curly all day, err day girls out there... sorry, don't kill me!

Wednesday was Adminstrative Professional's Day, and not only did I receive two very nice cards, but I also received a beautiful bouquet of spring colored roses. I've only been at my job for going on four weeks, so I didn't really feel deserving of the cards or the flowers, but I really appreciated the kind gesture from my superiors.

I had sushi not one, not two, but THREE times this past week. What can I say...I love me some sushi. On Wednesday I linked up with a good friend at a spot called Basil Leaf in Winston Salem, NC. We hit this place at least once every other month. If you live in the area be sure to try them out. They have sushi specials each day of the week. On Wednesdays you can get three rolls for $13.99. They also serve Thai cuisine, but I can't vouch for that we just go for the sushi!

Throwback Thursday. #tbt. All that. This would be three year old me. I didn't get the nickname "Flossie" for nothing y'all. LoL. Where did my mama get that bonnet? And why did she put it on my head? LoL. Either way I was still fly!

Oh good customer service goes suchhhhh a long way! Big R has an older Chevy Tahoe that has required a lot of good ole' TLC. The last mechanic we went to has AMAZING customer service, especially as compared to the mechanic we had worked with before (but that's another story). Anyway, not only did they give us a follow up call thanking us for our business, but they also sent us this nice card in the mail! Needless to say, we will be going back to them! NO question about that!

Thursday night is usually seafood night in the Team H household. This past Thursday night we had lobster tail, shrimp, corn on the cob, and red beans and rice. Lobster tails are super easy to cook by the way! I've been able to find two nice sized lobster tails in the freezer section of our Walmart for around $13 if you're curious! If you want to know how I cook ours let me know. Would you all be interested in some food posts? I like to get down in the kitchen a little bit. I can add some of my recipes to the blog. Just let me know friends!
I wish I could have better depicted just how big that doggone chocolate bunny is! It's ridiculous! My mom won it at her job, and of course she had to give it to Little R. I think I've briefly mentioned on the blog  that Little R splits his time in Virginia with his mom, and in North Carolina with his dad and I. One of the drawbacks of this arrangement is that we don't get every holiday with him. So that also means that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny have to sometimes "drop off" Little R's goodies for him to get the next time he visits us in NC. On the flip side of that, "Santa Claus" and the "Easter Bunny", (aka Big R and I) tend to procrastinate. I put together Little R's Easter basket the day before he got here. Shame, shame. I know! He loved it though! He picked pieces of chocolate off that bunny all weekend long.

I so needed this reminder on Friday!

You know, it's the little things sometimes. Like this bottle of disinfectant that lives on the back of every toilet at my office. AND this SIGN on the back of every stall door. Yes, yes, and yes! Do y'all remember this post from way back when? I don't have to worry about such things at my new gig! #wontHedoit

Saturday, April 26th, 2014

Saturday was an action packed day! Little R had a flag football game. We caught the second half of Wake Forest University's Spring Football game. After the Wake Forest game, we also dropped by the Wake Forest vs. Duke Baseball game. When I tell y'all my boys wore me out this weekend...whew child!

Sunday, April 27th, 2014
Sunday started with a super late breakfast. We slept in. We were all tired after the day we had on Saturday.

Around midday we hit the track. Big R and Little R worked on some football drills. I ran/walked a mile! Woot, woot! Holla at ya girl! Lawd knows this body of mine need an increase in physical activity.
Before we knew it, 6:00 arrived, way too soon, and it was time to get Little R back to his family in Virginia. He and his dad were just kicking it around as we waited.

This here would be sushi round 3. (My second sushi date went down on Friday for lunch with my co-worker) On another side note, I had my first bite before I snapped a picture. I couldn't help myself. #dontjudgeme

And that's all folks!!!

Until next time,

Monday Mani.

Happy Monday, friends!!! Welcome to a new week, which means a new manicure for me. I have talked about my nails in previous posts. I just feel so put together when I have them polished. As of late, I've made it a point to give myself a manicure every week. As you may have also noticed, I am all about being frugal. I have a collection of polishes, all of which cost less than $5 if I purchased them myself. I thought I would come in every week and share my polish picks with you all just in case you're interested in some inexpensive polish options as well.
This past weekend I attended a baby shower and my family's Easter dinner, so I polished my nails in this festive red color. The color is "Pucker Up" by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. I bought the polish at my local Walmart for $2.50. I haven't checked any other Walmarts, but my Walmart has this particular brand of polish on display at the front of the store 2/$5. Score!

Now for this week, I need you lovelies to head to your local Walgreens! Sinful Colors polish is on sale for 99 cents!
I picked up four new colors! I decided on the "Bright Lucite" for this week. I wasn't able to take the photos of the polishes I bought in the best lightening so what you're seeing isn't true to color. I will snap some shots of this week's manicure in better lighting tomorrow and post them on my Google Plus page here:

Come back next Monday to see my next manicure!

Until next time,

Happy Good Friday!

Happy Good Friday, friends! I have today off for the Good Friday holiday. I am very thankful for the three day weekend. I am looking forward to spending some quality time with my family tomorrow for a baby shower and Sunday for Easter, of course. How beautiful is the arrangement of milk glass, ranunculus, and peonies above?! Just gorgeous, right. If I had bigger pockets, I would definitely replicate the arrangement at my wedding, that I haven't seriously started planning for yet!  What are your plans for the weekend? Did you have today off too?

Until next time,

30 before 30.

I was inspired to create a list of 30 things I would like to accomplish before I turn 30 by the lovely Stephanie of a Southern Mess at She shared her progress here. I will turn 30 in just a little less than 4 years from now. I had a mini meltdown a few weeks ago when I realized that I will be turning 27 at the end of this year. 27 people!!!! Where is the time going? Anyway, by creating this list now, I feel like this gives me more than enough time to accomplish, or at least attempt to accomplish, all 30 things on my list! So let's get into it shall we? This list is not in priority order by the way.
  1. Grow my blog to at least 500 followers. That seems like a HUGE goal for me right now, but some things you just have to speak into existence, right?
  2. Purchase a home.
  3. Jump the broom. We are currently planning a May 2015 wedding; however, eloping is not out of the question, in my opinion at least.
  4. Take a trip with my mommy. Just me and my mom. I would love to take a cruise with her.
  5. Visit my dad's grave. Please do not judge me, but I have not been able to even stomach the idea of making that trip. I know it's something I need to do.
  6. Become an active member of my sorority again. I am a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; HOWEVER, I have failed terribly at being as active as I would like to be and that is definitely something I want to change ASAP.
  7. Obtain a Master's degree. In Healthcare Administration? OR as a Physician Assistant?
  8. Have a baby. Just one.
  9. Buy a really good camera and learn how to use it.
  10. Refurbish an old piece of furniture. Likely a dresser.
  11. Learn how to change the tire on a car.
  12. Work on being ON TIME.
  13. Get in shape.
  14. Run a 5K.
  15. Take a trip to Vegas.
  16. Have a photo shoot done. After I get in shape, and before I have a baby hopefully.
  17. Attend a blogger conference. I would like to go to one in a fun city I've never visited before.
  18. Learn and perfect a few new recipes.
  19. Fully furnish our home.
  20. Spend a weekend in NYC.
  21. Grow my hair out so that it hits my shoulders while curly. And by curly I mean in a wash and go type curly.
  22. Work on growing my savings account.
  23. Learn how to meditate.
  24. Maintain an 80/20 diet. 80% clean. 20% whatever I want.
  25. Spend more time with my "little" brother
  26. Enjoy every second with Little R. He's growing up way too fast.
  27. Do more in our community.
  28. Pay off some debt.
  29. Build my wardrobe with classic, everyday pieces.
  30. Celebrate my 30th birthday somewhere fun and with people I love.
My plan is to check back in from time to time to give an update of what I have accomplished! I hope to stick to this! What do you want to accomplish before you turn 30? If you are already 30, what are some of the things you hope to accomplish in the next year or so?

Let me know!!

Until next time,

Just Another Manic Monday.

Will someone please explain to me WHY it's Monday already?!

Friday came. It went.

Saturday came. It went.

Sunday came. It went.

Here we are, and it's Monday! Here are some of the things that are running through my mind...

I need to be mentally and physically prepared to learn as much as I can at work this week. It's a short work week, but it's going to be a busy one.

I need to come up with a blogging schedule. Sooner rather than later.

I ALSO need to come up with a workout schedule STAT.
I need to stick to my 80/20 diet. A 90/10 diet would be even better.

I love every second I spend with Big R and Little R. Here are some shots from our weekend.

Little R's Flag Football Game

Big R's football team had their Spring game on Saturday as well.

Someone even caught Coach smiling!
Our Sunday adventures included washing our cars as a team!

My job was to do the detailing of the inside of the car. I had to sneak in a selfie somewhere! ; )
Little R had too much fun. He wants to clean the cars every week. He can have at it...I much prefer to let someone else do the detailing thing for me!

Let's see how blowing my own damn mind goes this week!!!

Until next time,

I Love My Team.

Is it just me, or do you just need to hear "You GOT This!" every now and then. Sometimes I will just say it to myself, but it is always really nice to hear it from a friend or family member! Well yesterday was my first day at my new job, and I was totally awestruck by the "You GOT This!" type support I received from my friends and family! I cannot say enough how thankful I am to have such a bomb a$$ group of people I can count on to be there for me through good or bad!! Of course I told each of them thank you for reaching out to me yesterday, but I just had to come here to say THANKS again to all of my lovelies!!!
My first two days have been great! I'm learning so much, so soon, and I'm just excited about it all! Can I just say:
Read that, let it soak in...KNOW it!!!!

Until next time friends,
<3 Keia

Week in Review {Monday, March 31st - Saturday, April 5th}

So as you may know, especially if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, I spent this past week on a little staycation. I was lucky enough to have some annual leave time saved up from my old job that allowed me to take a week off of work prior to starting my new job TOMORROW! When I say I've enjoyed this week! Child! I was really able to just relax and recharge my batteries. I will be able to transition into this new opportunity fully energized, both mentally and physically. I snapped a few pictures over the past few days, and I thought I would share them with you guys!
Breakfast in bed.
I spent some time working on some projects that I plan on sharing on the blog. Here's a sneaky peek of one of them! ; )
Wednesday was super relaxing. I had a nice breakfast of oatmeal, boiled eggs, and coffee, I worked on the blog, relaxed on the deck, and gave myself a mani.
I'm just saying...can I wear these flats everyday? I love all things leopard print, and these flats in particular are super comfy.
Loving this scarf I picked up from Goodwill. I took a quick shot of the scarf while I waited in the line to get my car detailed. #dontjudgeme LoL.
After I got the car detailed, I had an appointment to get it serviced at the Toyota dealership. I came across Shavonda from A Home Full of Color's lovely home as a glanced through the February issue of Better Homes and Gardens. 1) Her home is beautiful, and I love her blog just as much, 2) I need to get a subscription to Better Homes and Gardens. {Quick Side Note: I got a  full year subscription for ONLY $5.99!!! Go get yours NOW!!!}
Up until this past Friday, I had not been active on Twitter for a little over two years! I decided since I will no longer share my posts on Facebook, I would give Twitter another try! So come follow me on Twitter @_justkeia, friends!!!
Yesterday I made the drive to Virginia to visit my family. I was feeling myself at a stoplight so I took this quick pic! LoL. I just love my aviators.
Whenever I get with my mom and my cousin (who's really more like my aunt) it's a guarantee that we will make a stop by a Goodwill or two. I really liked my outfit yesterday so I sneakily took this pic of myself while shopping. My shirt is from WALMART. I actually bought a few pieces from Walmart last weekend. Would y'all be interested to see what I picked up? What about another Goodwill haul? Let me know!!!
I stopped by to see my aunt that I haven't seen in a good while. She's actually my dad's sister. She had a beautiful mural  painted going up her stairway featuring her kids and grand kids. At the bottom landing of her stairway she has this beautiful tribute to my late grandparents, aunt, uncles and my dad (Pete). It was so good to see her and some of my other family members that I rarely get a chance to see.

My plan is to spend the rest of today getting ready for my big day tomorrow, and I'm going to kick it on the couch with Big R and watch a movie or two!
